This annual half-day lecture has been written by an experienced Court Duty Solicitor and is aimed at updating criminal defence solicitors in respect of Law, Practice & Procedure in the Magistrates' Court. The course format will deal with the following topics: New orders and breach provisions in the Youth Court; Referral Orders - all change; Crown Court means testing - advising the client at that first Magistrates' Court hearing; The principle of "legitimate expectation" - all change following R. v.
